I never want to do this alone. Some people do and to those I applaud you. You do, have done and will do an amazing job. You may not be thanked so I will do it on behalf of the ungrateful spawn you have created. I jest!</p> <p>I got a small taster of what it would be like to be a parent. A bank holiday that most spend drunk or hung over. ps i did all that and then had to wake up. I loved it and dreaded it in equal measure. No that’s a lie I loved it more than I dreaded it. I had those moments that some parents would kill for. Holding my two year nephew as he discovered something new in the aquarium. Being dragged by his five and half year old old big brother as he spots a lion and wants a closer look. </p> <p>I get why some adults stop working out while raising a child, it is literally a work out in itself. I bulked up this weekend, between picking up the little one and carrying all the supplies I could think of in a ruck sack. Yes, I took eight nappies </p> <p>I look tired, partially broken but I feel like I have accomplished so much.</p> <p>But I only managed to get through it all with the help of my amazing family, supportive friends, the general public getting out of my way and strangers playing peek-a-boo with my little nephew. </p> <p>So a massive thank you to you all. It meant a lot to me and the boys enjoyed it too. </p> <p>I do have one criticism of the whole weekend…Children’s tv mainly Disney… god damn you Disney gives children an unrealistic view of the world “Sofia the first”…long may it survive. I miss it. That element of wonder and surprise seeing magic everywhere. Just we may want to tone down on the glitter… I nearly lost and eye!</p> <p>Back to what I was saying. People do this alone, in couples and in various forms. They do the job but what I realised is that no matter how alone you think you are, it’s never the case. Help comes in all shapes and sizes. </p> <p>To mums and dads you have created a miracle. No matter what they do or who they become. Some things you can’t control ;o)</p> <p>Single mums and dads wow, wow and wow! I bow down to you and respect you so much.</p> <p>Foster and adoptive parents thank you for showing a child the love they all deserve. There are so many children who need good homes and deserve them. So I think whether alone or with someone I feel I could in the future create a stable environment for one or more children. Coming from a big family I value the fact that families are dynamic and understand that they come in so many shapes and sizes. The most important thing is that the children are looked after, cared for and loved.
